Scout was Big Boy’s pasture mate, obtained after Big Boy took to leaning down the pasture fence and taking sojourns down the five-lane highway next to the farm, searching for companionship!  The little girls who lived next door were enamored of the horses and came over as often as their parents would allow.  They took to calling him “Scot” instead of Scout, so eventually we just morphed his name to “Scot the Scout”.
